Which Wrapping Paper Should You Use for a Round Bouquet?

The round bouquet is the most classic arrangement in floristry. Compact, symmetrical, and full from every angle. And because the shape is so precise, the packaging needs to match. A well-chosen floral skirt frames the flowers, adds volume at the base, and completes the presentation before a single word is said.

Here is what to look for, which sizes to choose, and which wrapping works best.

What makes a good wrapping paper for a round bouquet?

The round bouquet has a specific set of characteristics that determine what wrapping actually works, and what does not.

The stems are all cut about the same length, which gives the bouquet its clean, domed shape. The silhouette is tight and circular when viewed from above. The flower heads sit close together and face forward. There is no wild spread of foliage or trailing stems to work around.

This precision is exactly why standard wrapping paper often falls short. A flat sheet folded around a round bouquet creates awkward bunching at the sides. Sleeve-style wrapping covers too much of the arrangement. Cones can work, but they tend to distort the circular silhouette and add bulk where none is needed.

The answer for round bouquets is a Skirt.

Champagne Pearlized Skirt with Flowers

A floral skirt wraps around the base of the bouquet rather than over the top. It frames the stems, adds a finished edge at the bottom, and lets the flowers speak for themselves. The visual result is clean, professional, and immediately gift-ready.

That last point, sizing, is the one that catches most people out.

Getting the size right

One measurement matters most when choosing a skirt: stem length.

Our skirts are measured with the length of the sides from top to bottom, which can cover the stems. The sizing rule is simple: your stems should always be a few centimetres longer than the skirt length. If the stems end exactly where the skirt ends, the arrangement looks cut off. When stems extend slightly below the skirt, the bouquet looks anchored and intentional. That small difference in length changes the whole impression.

The width tells you how much room the flower heads have at the top.How wide the bouquet can spread while staying protected. You can find these widths in this blog.
